Our designers work to support Environmental Legislation set by government entities:
-EPA, Environmental Protection Agency
-CEPA, California Environmental Protection Agency
-CUPA, Certified Unified Program Agency for the County of Orange
-AQMD, South Coast Air Quality Management District
-EU, European Union
-RoHS, Reduction of Hazardous Substances Directive
Our goal is to help build a sustainable society by accelerating the spread of products with higher environmental performance. We aim to increase the ratio of Green Products across our entire product range and continue to achieve ever-higher targets. Therefore we draw up annual target plans in order to create our own benchmark for the future. |

Panasonic has long incorporated environment as a key part of product design.
Since 1991, we have been operating a product assessment system designed to pre-evaluate the environmental impact of our products where it really matters:
the product planning and

In March 1999 MEI/PAVC released our first Green
Procurement Standards (Version 4 was issued in April 2006)
and the Chemical Substance Management Rank Guidelines,
aiming at promoting the manufacture of environmentallyconscious
products in partnership with our suppliers.
We have
asked our suppliers to respect our environmental policies and
principles, to establish, maintain and improve their
environmental management systems by acquiring ISO 14001
certification and to improve the environmental performance of
the materials we purchase from them. |
