Matsushita Avionics Systems (MAS) to become Panasonic Avionics Corporation
February 23, 2004
Seattle, WA - Following the lead of many Matsushita companies, MAS has decided to change its company name to Panasonic Avionics Corporation to take advantage of the worldwide recognition and respect for the Panasonic brand.

"It is appropriate for MAS to make this change to the Panasonic brand name in 2005 as we celebrate our 25th year of operations", said MAS President Takashi Mizuma.  "25 years ago MAS began its business in avionics as the supplier of the Passenger Services System (PSS) for the then new Boeing 767."  Mizuma continues, "Now 25 years later, MAS serves virtually every airline worldwide and millions of passengers each year. We have grown, thanks to our customers, into a global avionics solutions provider.  As we look forward towards the next 25 years we are excited to provide our customers with a growing portfolio of products and services under the Panasonic brand.

"The name Matsushita Avionics Systems Corporation will officially change to Panasonic Avionics Corporation on April 1, 2005.
