| Matsushita Avionics Systems Corporation Improves Customer Service with Four New Facilities |
| March 23, 2000 |
Bothell, Washington, USA - Takashi Mizuma, President, Matsushita Avionics Systems Corporation (MAS), has announced the opening of two new company facilities - in Lake Forest, California and Dallas, Texas - and the planned opening of two others in London, U.K. and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. "These new facilities will further improve our ability to serve the customer at key hubs around the world. We want to be right where our customers need us, whenever they need us," Mr. Mizuma said.
MAS Lake Forest opened on January 4, 2000, replacing the company’s nearby Irvine facility. With more than twice the square footage of the Irvine complex, the Lake Forest site also doubles the size of MAS` System Test Lab where engineers test hardware and integrate customer software into IFE systems for up to 22 aircraft at a time. Other improvements include a Marketing Demonstration Facility that enables customers to try out IFE systems in a simulated aircraft interior, and a state-of-the-art customer training room. "In keeping with Matsushita’s commitment to the environment, MAS Lake Forest is also undergoing ISO 14000 certification," according to Mr. Mizuma. "Certification is expected in April."
The new MAS Regional Center in Coppell, Texas (a suburb of Dallas/Fort Worth) became operational on February 10. Originally envisioned as a small regional office, the site will house MAS` newly created Dallas Repair Shop as well as support services, marketing and sales functions for customers in the Americas. The facility recently received FAA Certification.
The MAS Regional Center in London is moving nearby to larger quarters, enabling the company to expand its repair shop and support services for European customers. Occupancy is expected by the end of May 2000.
MAS is currently constructing a new Regional Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to provide more comprehensive repair shop, field engineering and maintenance services to customers in the Middle East. MAS expects the new facility to be operational by May 2000.
"MAS team members are committed to the total satisfaction of our customers," Mr. Mizuma stated. "We won’t be satisfied until every customer is convinced that MAS provides not only the best systems but also the very best support services in the IFE industry. We believe these new facilities will help us reach that goal." |
