MAS Announces Keynote Speaker for 2002 Users Conference:

MacLean, Vice President, Purchasing for American Airlines will be the Keynote Speaker at Matsushita’s upcoming 2002 Users Conference in Seattle, Washington (Wednesday, July 31st and Thursday, August 1st).

Mr. MacLean has served as Vice President-Purchasing for American Airlines since March 1992.  He is responsible for the airline’s acquisition of goods and services including jet fuel, aircraft parts, in-flight products, airport services, food and beverages, ground equipment, print material and ground support services.

Mr. MacLean leads American’s Business-to-Business e-commerce strategy and is a past board member with Cordiem, a joint venture of nine airlines and three aviation suppliers creating a procurement market place.  Under his leadership, American’s Purchasing department was awarded the "Medal of Professional Excellence" in 1998 by Purchasing magazine, the first and only airline to receive that honor.
