Seattle, WA (11 September 2003) - Matsushita Avionics Systems Corporation (MAS) and
General Dynamics Airborne Electronic Systems announced a key agreement today at the World Airline Entertainment Association’s Conference and Exhibition in Seattle. Under the agreement, General Dynamics will provide in-seat power for air travelers to plug in their laptop computers. GD’s power solution can be integrated into several MAS In-Flight Entertainment systems, including System 3000, eFX and eX2.
General Dynamics Airborne Electronic Systems - the design and manufacturing facility for in-seat power systems - will provide its EMPOWER® 110 Volt AC In-Seat Power System for use with MAS IF systems. The patented EMPOWER® In-Seat Power Systems are designed to meet the power needs of casual and business travelers, the rigorous power standards of commercial aircraft, and are designed with a variety of safety features.
